- Gusseted construction provides ultimate load resistance and sway resistance.
- Gussets eliminate the need for wooden corner gussets and provide a wide open
- Designed to construct a high quality and high strength structure which will last for a lifetime.

- Flexible designs of the brackets allow for unlimited shapes, sizes, and aesthetics configurations.
- Eliminates the need to outsource skilled laborers and makes outdoor living space creation affordable.
- You select the lumber type and acquire it. Avoid low quality and low grade imported soft wood lumber gazebo kits sold at big box stores which deteriorate within 3 seasons.
Hexagon Size
- The size shown in the kit description (e.g., 10ft. to 12-1/2ft. Wide Solid Roof) defines the width between two parallel hexagon walls.
- The size of a hexagon structure is defined by the outer width dimension between two parallel walls of the hexagon structure.
- To determine what size hexagon will fit in the space available in your yard, include and add the extra space required for the roof overhangs past the hexagon walls. We recommend a 12″ roof overhang past the hexagon walls.
- The size of the hexagon roof you can build employing this bracket kit (measuring across two parallel walls) ranges from 10 feet to 20 feet, depending on the length of the headers.
- The living space you can create ranges between 75 sq. ft and 345 sq. ft.
- Detailed specifications for header length to hexagon size and living area are provided in the Instructions Manual.
Solid Roof Compatible
- The solid roof kit is designed to eliminate all wood joinery requirements.
- All roof brackets are designed to provide superior structural support and strength to the structure, far exceeding the strength provided by wood joinery.
- The brackets simplify wood members cutting and adding end treatments.
- The brackets provide precise fit and alignment yielding an architechtural roof structure.
Lumber size
- Lumber NOT included.
- 6×6 PT Lumber can vary in size, greatly. Use a power planar to reduce size to 5-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ at lumber ends, if lumber is larger than 5-9/16″ x 5-9/16″.
- Uses dimensional 6×6 posts and headers lumber members.
- For solid roof structure, use 2×6 or 2×8 rafters, cross tie beams, and roof skirts for sizes upto 14-1/2 feet wide. For sizes wider than 14-1/2 feet wide, use 2×8 rafters, cross tie beams, and roof skirts.

It was very easy to build using the DIY brackets designed by RioOutdoors.com. We selected the 6×6 size and built ours to 16′ x 16′ size. It is simply awesome. Now our house, itself, needs upgrades to match with the high-end design of this gazebo. The posts supporting our house deck are 4×4 size and look like sticks compared to the 6×6 size posts we used for this Hexagon Gazebo. We have decided to add 1×6 caps to the 4×4 posts of our house deck so the size of posts match and appear cosmetically appealing.
The brackets we received were very high quality and professionally packaged in expanding foam for shipping protection. Very nice touch.
The whole bracket kit weighs over 300 lbs and was delivered via Fedex Freight on a pallet. However, there were many individual boxes on the pallet. We simply removed the shrink wrap holding the boxes and were able to carry individual boxes easily to the construction site.
RioOutdoors has thought of everything for DIYers. All hardware (screws and bolts) were included with each bracket. This made it very easy for us during construction. All hardware we needed were exactly where the brackets were to be installed.
We highly recommend this product and RioOutdoors.com.

I am a carpenter by trade. I was quite biased about my woodworking skills and wood joinery knowledge. Then I came across this company and looked at their DIY bracket and how they designed them to make wood joints easy. If I had to do it without these brackets, it would take me at least one month to build. If I was charging to build as a contractor, that would be at least $7500 in labor charge. But with these brackets, it takes 2-1/2 days, tops, for two people to build. I am quite impressed with the design of the brackets. After building this gazebo with the roof, this structure is very solid and will stay this solid forever. The only toe nails used are for the top edge of the cross tie beams and the top of the roof skirts. The main structure is solidly tied together with steel brackets. Very well designed and engineered. I am impressed and will recommend.

First we built the open top. It was so easy to do that we decided to add the solid roof on it. It looked like a daunting task but after going through the install manual, we found it so simple. By the time the parts arrived, we had already cut and readied all rafters, cross ties, and the roof skirts. It took us only 3 hours to build the roof framing between me and my friend. Every piece of wood fit perfectly like a puzzle. The same day, we finished the roof osb and tar paper. The next morning, we finished the shingles. Very easy to do and very happy that we could save over $7000 by building ourselves. It does not take more than simple miter saw knowledge to build this whole structure. Amazingly clever design. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Quick shipment and delivery. Very responsive to questions with good answers. Very quick to send us customized cut list and instructions. The materials list made it very easy for us to know exactly what to buy at the store. That saved us tons of time. Couldn’t be happier with the finished product. It appears very high end and attractive.

These 6×6 elbow brackets are very heavy. They feel super strong. Once the floor anchors were tied down using the concrete anchors, nothing moved. I tried pushing the post over and I could not budge it. Very impressed with the overall strength of the lower structure. It got even stronger once the roof rafters were bolted to all corners together. We built a 16 ft. wide hexagon. It feels huge! Lot of space under it for large parties. The cross tie brackets were so well designed and made the roof cross tie beams installation easy. Without them, I would be struggling a lot, and would not be able to align them to create this awesome exposed beam structure. I am very happy with the whole outcome. Very high end and snazzy appearing in our yard.

It was so easy to build an open top hexagon using these brackets. The hardest thing was to lift the 6×6 posts and headers because wet treated lumber is super heavy. Otherwise, everything lined up and aligned into a perfect hexagon shape. We followed the guidelines to use sand bags to support the posts. That helped a ton. Overall very happy. Now we are considering the solid roof kit.
