Amazing quality. Exactly as described, it fits perfectly and crosstie beams are perfectly aligned and very strong support is provided.

Strange looking bracket. Never seen anything like this. But it works very well. Especially the U-channel angles and the little viewing window. Its just a bracket but it made my life so easy. I would never try making this type of roof structure without it. Whoever came up with this idea should be rewarded.

Link to Octagon Cross Tie Bracket’s Viewing WindowEasy to place. I love the little cutout window they put in this part. So simple yet so beneficial. Just mark the lines along the length of the rafter after measuring. Then just place them so the line shows through the little window and zap screw in. I lined up all eight rafters to see how far apart these bracket were between each rafter. No more than 1/16″ off. Very clever and easy design. In the end, we had a very nice roof with perfectly aligned exposed beams.

AT $12.95 a piece, this bracket does more to make this roof structure pretty than other parts which cost more. I was skeptical at first but I have totally changed my mind about its worth. Worth more than 2X its price to have a beautiful exposed beam ceiling with perfectly aligned cross tie beams. My wife is amazed how I made the beams line up so perfectly :-).

I would never be able to align side by side cross ties beams together without these brackets. Even the slightest length variance would throw off the alignment without these brackets. These brackets make it super-simple to ensure that all cross ties in one circular pattern are aligned perfectly. This bracket has angles that I cannot even measure with my protractor. But each one is built exactly the same. Very nice.
