Hexagon Size

The size shown in the Kit Description (e.g., 9ft. to 12ft. Wide Solid Roof) defines the width between two parallel hexagon walls.
The size of a Partial Hexagon structure is defined by the outer width dimension between two parallel walls of the Partial Hexagon structure.
To determine what size Hexagon will fit in the space available in your yard, include and add the extra space required for the roof overhangs past the Hexagon walls. We recommend a 6″ to 12″ roof overhang past the Hexagon walls.
The size of the partial hexagon you can build employing this bracket kit (measuring across two parallel sides) ranges from 8 feet to 20 feet, depending on the length of the headers.

The living space you can create ranges between 50 sq. ft to 285 sq. ft.

Roof Framing Lumber Requirements:

• • Roof rafter and crosstie lumber to be kiln dried lumber (pine, cedar, redwood, etc.).
  • Roof skirt members to be pressure treated pine, cedar, or redwood.
  • Roof rafters’ size to be 2×6 for widths up to 14 feet and 2×8 for widths more than 14 feet.
  • Roof skirt members’ size to be 2×6 or 2×8 and must be the same size as Roof rafter size.
