- This is a novel bracket designed to attach the open truss rafter to the horizontal truss beam.
- The Truss End U-Channel Bracket, RH is employed to assemble a partial hexagon and partial octagon open-end truss structure.
- The Truss End U-Channel Bracket, RH attaches to the side face of the rafter beam and the horizontal beam and provides one U-channels to hold the horizontal beam.
- In conjuncution with Truss Center Joints Bracket and the Butt Joint Plate, this bracket allows DIYers to easily create a strong and lasting open end truss structure.
- The Truss End U-Channel Bracket RH attaches to the rafter’s side surface using four (4) 1/4″ x 1-1/4″ lag screws.
- The Truss End U-Channel Bracket RH attaches to one face of the horizontal beam using four (4) 1/4″ x 1-1/4″ lag screws and the opposite face using two (2) 1/4″ x 1-1/4″ lag screws.
- The high strength design of this bracket creates a strong joint between the horizontal beam and the rafter member.
- This bracket is designed to work with both 2×6 and 2×8 horizontal beam and rafter member.
- This bracket is designed to compatible with both partial hexagon and partial octagon open-end truss structure.
- Two simple but DIY-Centric features are added to this bracket as depicted in the image, below. Two joint inspection windows are provided and identified by a hexagon shape cut and an octagon shape cuts.
- For a hexagon open-end truss assembly, align the bottom edge of the rafter with the slot window located above the hexagon shaped cut. This will locate this bracket at the proper left to right position automatically.
- For an octagon open-end truss assembly, align the bottom edge of the rafter with the slot window located above the octagon shaped cut. This will locate this bracket at the proper left to right position automatically.
- Included are ten (10) 1/4″ x 1-1/4″ lag screws to complete the job.
- This bracket is constructed from 1/8″ thick high strength steel.
- This bracket is laser cut and formed and coated with durable black powder paint.
- This bracket may be spray painted over with any desired exterior-grade paint color.

Simple part with angled slots. Align angle slots with rafter angle then slide until you see the joint between truss beam and rafter. One slot for hexagon and one slot for octagon are there. There is a hexagon cut under the hexagon viewing slot and an octagon cut under the octagon viewing slot. Very easy to locate left to right easily by viewing through these windows. The viewing slots are an impressive feature in such a simple u-shaped part.

Its easy to locate properly and easy to attach. It is strong enough to tie the truss beam to the rafter. The full truss assembly was very stiff and strong when completed. It was very easy to lift the truss and place it on top of the walls.
