- This is a novel bracket designed to connect two roof deck support cross tie beams to the main hexagon rafters.
- The Hexagon Cross Tie Bracket is designed to attach to the bottom and side surfaces of the main hexagon rafters and provide two cross tie receiver U-channels at precise angles.
- These brackets simplify addition of the cross tie beams at perfect angles to form decorative deck support structures in a perfect octagon shape.
- DIY-Centric Smart Designs have been injected in these bracket providing precise angular alignment and precise positioning using the “Pencil Mark Viewing Window”.
- The high strength design of this bracket holds the cross tie support beams securely.
- The Hexagon Cross Tie Bracket’s arms have upward facing open U-channels to easily receive 2×6 or 2×8 cross tie beams.
- The cross tie bracket attaches to the rafter’s bottom and side surfaces using four (4) 1/4″ x 1-1/4″ lag screws.
- Each cross tie beam is secured to the U-channel with two (2) 1/4″ x 1-1/4″ lag screws.
- Included are eight (8) 1/4″ x 1-1/4″ lag screws to complete the job.
- Don’t forget that you will have to drive 10D X 3″ nails at an angle to secure the top of the cross tie beams to the rafter. These 10D nails are not included.
- This bracket is constructed from 1/8″ thick high strength steel.
- This bracket is laser cut and formed and coated with durable black powder paint.
- This bracket may be spray painted over with any desired exterior-grade paint color.

This part is very good. They did not compromise anything when when designing this part. Eventhough the small “Pencil Line” viewing window seems to be inconsequential when you first look at it, when you start assembling this part, you will be amazed at the value this little viewing window provides. If you mark the bracket position lines using a dark pencil mark on the rafters, you can look through this window and place the bracket at the exact location required. I am amazed that they took this much effort and thought in designing this bracket. I highly recommend it.

This part work amazingly well. Easy to locate on rafter and make it easy to add cross tie beams. It is perfect.

This braket works exactly like they show in the install instructions. So easy to add to correct locations on the rafters and so easy to add the cross tie beams perfectly. I highly recommend this bracket.

This part is invaluable. At first, it looked like a common bracket. But when you start adding them to the rafters and then later start adding cross tie beams, it becomes very clear why this part is so important. It made aligning cross tie beams in a perfect hexagon circular pattern so easy. Do not skimp on purchasing this part. It is at the heart of the hexagon roof structure and exposed beams design.

Perfect part to create the exposed beams hexagon roof structure. Highly recommended.
