This bracket connects two Rafters to a 4×6 Ridge Beam at ~18.5-degree (4-12 pitch) angles. It simplifies addition of the ridge rafters at perfect angles to form a strong support structure. This bracket eliminates the need to build a truss structure. The high strength design of this bracket holds the ridge rafters securely.

The DIY Heavy Duty Ridge Rafter Tie Bracket is commonly employed to construct roofs for 4-12 pitch Rectangle Pavilions, 4-12 pitch Gable Roofed garage, shed, or workshop. These brackets simplify addition of the ridge rafters at perfect angles to form strong support structures. This bracket helps to create an open vaulted ceiling. The Universal/ DIY Ridge Rafter Tie Bracket attaches to the bottom and side surfaces of the 4X main ridge beam and provides two rafter receiver U-channels at 18.5-degree (4-12 pitch) angles. The Universal/ Ridge Rafter Tie Bracket’s arms have upward facing open U-channels to easily receive 4×6, 4×8, 4×10 or 4×12 ridge rafters. The Universal/ ridge rafter tie bracket attaches to the ridge beam’s bottom and side surfaces using six (6) 3/8″ x 2″ lag screws. Each rafter is secured to the U-channel with four (4) 3/8″ x 2″ lag screws. Customer to supply the required sixteen (16) 3/8″ x 2″  lag screws to complete the job. WARNING: You must attach this bracket to the ridge beam first, exactly as shown in the video steps, before you add the rafters. You must use 3/8″ x 2″ lag screws  or longer to attach this bracket. Don’t forget that you will have to drill 1/8″ pilot holes before driving 10D X 3″ nails, not included, at an angle to secure the top of the rafters to the ridge beam.

Physical Properties

This bracket is constructed from double walled 1/8″ thick high strength steel. This bracket is laser cut and formed and coated with durable white powder paint. This bracket may be spray painted over with any desired exterior-grade paint color.
