A truely unique part which has an offset to fit properly and fully strengthen the joint between the rafter and ridge beam. You will not find a comparable product offered anywhere else. This bracket connects two Rafters to a 2X Ridge Beam at ~23-degree (5-12 pitch) angles. It simplifies addition of the ridge rafters at perfect angles to form a strong support structure. This bracket is constructed from double layered 1/8″ thick steel provide the strength of 1/4″ steel.. The high strength design of this bracket holds the ridge rafters securely.

Versatile

The DIY Heavy Duty Ridge Rafter Tie Bracket is custom made for applications where 2×10 Ridge Beams are conneced to 2×8 Rafters. These brackets simplify addition of the ridge rafters at perfect angles to form strong support structures. Couple this with our universal rafter tie bracket to build a super-sturdy gable roof structure. Use this bracket in conjunction with bracket #PTRT (Wall Top Rafter Tie). This bracket helps to create an open vaulted ceiling. The Custom Offset Ridge Rafter Tie Bracket’s arms have upward facing open U-channels to easily receive 2×8 ridge rafters. The Custom Offset ridge rafter tie bracket attaches to the ridge beam’s bottom and side surfaces using six (6) 1/4″ x 1-1/2″ lag screws. Each rafter is secured to the U-channel with four (4) 1/4″ x 1-1/2″ lag screws. Included are forteen (14) 1/4″ x 1-1/2″  lag screws to complete the job. Don’t forget that you will have to drill 1/8″ pilot holes to drive 10D X 3″ nails, not included, at an angle to secure the top of the rafters to the ridge beam.

Physical Properties

This bracket is constructed from double walled 1/8″ thick high strength steel. This bracket is laser cut and formed and unpainted. This bracket must be spray painted over with Rustoleum Exterior Grade spray paint.
