Now further reinforced with double metal thickness throughout for super-duty performance and rigidity, this bracket connects two Rafters to a 2X Ridge Beam at 11 degree (2-1/3-12 pitch) angles and can be used to add rafters to any struture. You can use this bracket for a front porch pitched roof, a mini shed, a shed, a garage, a greenhouse, a paviliion, a barn or any structure that has a 2X Ridge Beam and needs 2X Rafters.

Universal Applications

The Universal/ DIY Ridge Rafter Tie Bracket attaches to the bottom and side surfaces of the 2X main ridge beam and provide two rafter receiver U-channels at 11-degree ( 2-1/3-12 pitch) angles. WARNING: You must attach this bracket to the ridge beam first, exactly as shown in the video steps, before you add the rafters. You must use 1/4″ x 1-1/2′ lag screws that are included with the brackets. This bracket eliminates the need to add trusses and simplifies addition of the ridge rafters at perfect angles to form strong a support structure. This bracket helps to create a high open vaulted ceiling. The Universal ridge rafter tie bracket attaches to the ridge beam’s bottom and side surfaces using six (6) 1/4″ x 1-1/4″ lag screws. The high strength design of this bracket holds the ridge rafters securely. The Universal Ridge Rafter Tie Bracket’s arms have upward facing open U-channels to easily receive 2×6 or 2×8 ridge rafters. Each ridge rafter is secured to the U-channel with four (4) 1/4″ x 1-1/4″ lag screws. Don’t forget that you will have to drill 1/8″ pilot holes to drive 10D X 3″ nails, not included, at an angle to secure the top of the ridge rafters to the ridge beam.

Physical Details

This bracket is made of 1/8″ thick high strength steel, double thickness at critical areas, laser cut, formed, and coated with durable black powder paint. This bracket is coated with black powder paint and may be spray painted over with any desired exterior-grade paint color. Included are forteen (14) 1/4″ x 1-1/4″  lag screws to complete the job.
